Accessing a flowing well

Ready to start a pump test

Services
  New Wells

Drilling and construction of new wells

  • standard 6 inch domestic wells
  • larger 8 inch wells for higher water flows or oversized pumping equipment
  • small diameter PVC monitoring wells for groundwater level observation and sampling
  • stainless steel screened wells and natural overburden wells
  • bedrock drilling
  • ground source heat pump holes

Pump & pressure system installation

We offer complete installation of both jet and submersible pumps. Outdoor trenching, well head connection, and site restoration is included. Inside the home the pressure tank, controls, fittings and existing plumbing and wiring are all connected.
We continually work alongside other contractors and assist homeowners who wish to do some of the work themselves.

  Existing Wells

Old Well Rehabilitation

  • chemical treatment of all types of wells
  • redeveloping of existing drilled wells to bring back or increase the flow rate of the water
  • replacement of old well casing and installation of liners if required

Well Head Upgrades

Most water well pressure systems have the water line connection below ground surface at the well casing. Today's standard is the use of a pitless adapter, yet many older connections remain in existence using a large diameter open working chamber of steel or concrete. As these types of installations age they have the potential to allow surface contamination and insects to enter the well. It is encouraged to have this type of installation converted over to a pitless adapter.

Pump Tests

A test may be required when:
  • obtaining a loan or mortgage using your property as collateral
  • expanding your business or firm
  • purchase of a property with a well

Flow tests can be performed on all types of wells. Although most wells should have a flow rate recorded at the time of construction it may still be in the best interest of the purchaser to have an updated test done. Age of the well itself and new construction in the area can both alter the flow rate of a well.

Chlorination of Wells & Pressure Systems

A poor water sample does not necessarily mean your source of ground water has gone bad. Bacteria could have been introduced through improper maintenance, from lack of use, or flood waters. During a chlorination process it is recommended to try and determine the cause so contamination will not happen again.
Proper introduction and concentration of the chlorine are both important to insure all bacteria are reached in the system.

    Problem Wells

Hydraulic Fracturing

The use of high pressure water injected into new or older wells has the potential to greatly increase the flow rate of a low producing well. A site visit and knowledge of the well can maximize the success of this process.

Down Hole Camera and Video Taping

The demand for this service is on the increase. It is a valuable tool when providing many of the previously mentioned services. The condition of well screens and well casings can be determined without their removal. The quality of the casing seals and entry points of water flow in undocumented wells can be logged. The camera is also useful in the retrieval of stuck pumps or drill tools from a well.

    Unused Wells

Well Decommissioning

Any dug, bored, driven or drilled wells that are no longer in use or maintained should be properly decommissioned. The Ministry of the Environment has guidelines and regulations that must be followed to decommission wells. The importance of proper decommissioning cannot be over stressed. If not done properly the decommissioned well can remain as much a threat to the water table as did the abandoned well itself.

Well Record Search

This is a valuable service for real estate agents, developers and new landowners. If a well record exists, we should be able to find it by using the company database and paper records, along with the Ministry of the Environment files.
